The Legend Story
Breakfast Seminar
17 October 2006, 7.25am – 8.55am
The Sebel Playford, Adelaide
When Bradley and Louise Dowe started an electronics factory at Edwardstown in 1989, there were lots of doubters. How could an Adelaide company take on the high tech behemoths in Taiwan and Korea and more recently China? The Dowes have proved the doubters wrong. Today if you own a computer or a digital camera, there is a good chance you own a Legend memory module. Legend Corporation boasts clients including Dell, Sony, Lexmark, Acer, Konica and NEC. Legend branded products are now appearing on the shelves at Harvey Norman, Kmart, Myer and Target. In the past five years, the company has tripled turnover to around $200m and listed on the ASX and used the capital raised to fuel international expansion. Bradley Dowe will share some insights into the highs, the lows and some of the lessons he's learned along the way.
This breakfast is jointly sponsored by SA's leading technology investor, Playford Capital and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, Finsia
Cost: Free but registration is essential.

Senator The Hon Helen Coonan, Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts is leading a high level trade delegation in November to Telecom Israel 2006 Exhibition, the showcase for Israel’s world-renowned Communication and Information Technology.
The Mission will provide outstanding networking and business opportunities, as well as a chance to promote Australia’s expertise in Israel, and its important role as a centre for innovation in the Asia-Pacific region.
